Mark Laferla Jr is Joint-Managing Director and a second-generation owner of Laferla, where he plays an active role in shaping the strategic direction of the Group’s operations, with a core focus on the insurance business headquartered in Valletta.

At the age of 19, Mr Laferla became one of the youngest individuals globally to qualify as an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) in the UK. He officially joined the family business in 2010, bringing with him a strong emphasis on brand development and a dedication to maintaining Laferla’s long-standing reputation for exceptional customer service.

Mr Laferla works closely with corporate clients of Laferla Insurance, placing particular focus on delivering professional, personalised solutions. He also plays a key role in driving the Group’s expansion into new sectors and international markets. Most recently, he has been involved in the launch of Laferla’s new digital tools, including a customer-centric fintech app designed to simplify how individuals manage their insurance needs—part of the company’s broader commitment to digital transformation.

Beyond his role at Laferla, Mr Laferla is the Co-Founder and Director of a company operating across the aviation, maritime, and engineering sectors.

He is a member of the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry, and is also a passionate private pilot.
