KM Malta Airlines said it is monitoring developments in the Middle East ahead of the scheduled launch of flights to Tel Aviv in May.
The Maltese national airline recently announced the launch of biweekly flights to Tel Aviv, with the first flight set to depart on 27th May.
In light of rising tensions and fighting in the region, WhosWho.mt asked KM Malta Airlines whether it plans to delay or cancel these flights.
“The first planned date of operation of KM Malta Airlines flights to Tel Aviv is not until 27th May 2026. We will continue to monitor the situation closely,” a spokesperson for the airline said.
Israeli shut down its airspace on Saturday after launching a large-scale joint attack with the US against Iran, which killed its longstanding leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Ben Gurion, Israel’s main international airport, will reportedly reopen on Friday.
KM Malta Airlines said last month that it decided to launch flights to Tel Aviv after identifying a market gap in a route that has historically delivered a strong performance.
