KM Malta Airlines said it decided to launch flights to Tel Aviv after identifying a market gap in a route that has historically delivered a strong performance.

“Tel Aviv is a market which is currently not served by any airline in providing air links with Malta,” a KM Malta spokesperson told WhosWho.mt.

“Historically this route has delivered a strong performance and its re-introduction with more convenient flight times provides an additional destination to and from Malta for both passengers and cargo.”

KM Malta’s predecessor Air Malta used to fly to Tel Aviv, but flights to the Israeli city weren’t included when the new national airline was launched in 2024.

Ryanair also used to operate Malta - Tel Aviv routes but it stopped flying to the city entirely last year, blaming Ben Gurion Airport’s refusal to confirm Ryanair’s summer slots among other issues.

KM Malta Airlines will operate biweekly flights to Tel Aviv, on Wednesdays and Sundays, with the first flight set to depart on 27th May.
