KM Malta Airlines has announced the launch of a new direct service between Malta and Málaga, further expanding its Summer 2026 schedule with another Mediterranean destination.

The new route will operate twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Sundays, between Malta International Airport and Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, with flights set to begin on Wednesday 27th May 2026.

According to the airline, the schedule will be as follows: On Wednesdays, flight KM596 will depart Malta at 14:10 and arrive in Málaga at 17:10, while the return flight, KM597, will leave Málaga at 18:00 and arrive in Malta at 20:55. On Sundays, KM596 will depart Malta at 08:05 and arrive in Málaga at 11:05, while KM597 will leave Málaga at 11:55 and land in Malta at 14:50. All times are local.

Málaga, on Spain’s Costa del Sol, is known for its beaches, historic centre and cultural attractions, including the Picasso Museum, the Alcazaba and Gibralfaro Castle. It also serves as a gateway to other destinations in southern Spain such as Marbella, Nerja, Ronda and inland Andalusia.

KM Malta Airlines said the new service forms part of its wider Summer 2026 schedule, which includes an expanded range of routes and frequencies across key European and Mediterranean destinations. The airline added that the Málaga route is intended to offer travellers more choice for summer holidays, city breaks and leisure travel, while also supporting inbound tourism to Malta.

Flights are available for booking via the airline’s website and app, travel agents, and other authorised sales channels.
