Malta-based edtech startup accelerator SuperCharger Ventures has received 562 applications to join its next cohort, registering a 160 per cent increase over the 217 applicants last year.

The selected applicants to the educational technology accelerator will then take part in a 12-week programme.

Speaking to WhosWho.mt, Programme Manager Iusef Abdel Hafith welcomed the enthusiastic response, noting that the demo days organised by SuperCharger Ventures have also grown, from 70 people for Cohort 1.0 to over 320 a few weeks ago.

“As 2025 is shaping up, the team at SuperCharger Ventures looks to expand its impact on the island,” he says.

“This means increasing the numbers of startup investors, larger, multi-day startup ‘festa’ and exploring the opening of other accelerator programmes, outside of edtech.”

He adds that the accelerator has been working on improving its process and value proposition for founders, noting that over 50 per cent of cohort members are looking to relocate to Malta.

"SuperCharger Ventures understand the important to publicly show results in order to demonstrate locally in Malta that building a startup and joining the eco-system is a viable career alternative for people.”

SuperCharger Ventures has a contract with Malta Enterprise that will see 150 edtech companies brought to the islands, having already run successful online accelerator programmes through London and Singapore.

Successful ventures are eligible to have their salaries covered, expenses reimbursed, and obtain access to funding and soft loans.
