Multinational consumer goods company Unilever has appointed Salvo Grima Group as regional distributor for a range of ambient consumer goods across several regions in Uganda.
Salvo Grima Group currently operates in eight countries in Europe and Africa and distributes to 50, specialising in bringing fast-moving consumer goods to emerging markets on behalf of multinational manufacturers.
This new appointment complements Salvo Grima Group’s existing distribution operation in neighbouring Rwanda, where the group operates as Unilever’s national distributor, reaching over 7,000 client outlets across the country and exporting to nearby markets such as Burundi and the Eastern provinces of DRC Congo.
"We are honoured to be entrusted with this prestigious project by Unilever and we are pleased to extend our reach further into East Africa,” Group Chief Executive Officer Karl Aquilina said.
“We are committed to maintaining the world class standards of multinational brands, bringing quality products steadily to consumers in this fast-growing region.”
Mr Aquilina extended his thanks to Luck Ochieng, Managing Director at Unilever East Africa and his team for “believing in us and giving us this opportunity to launch operations in Uganda”.
Employing a multinational team of over 250 people, Salvo Grima Group is a Maltese company with roots spanning back to 1860.
