McDonald’s Malta has announced that its restaurant at Malta International Airport (MIA) will temporarily close for refurbishment.

In a statement shared on its social media channels, McDonald’s wrote: “Big changes ahead. Our MIA restaurant will be temporarily closed for refurbishment." However, the company did not provide an indication of when the restaurant will reopen.

For now, customers can still enjoy McDonald’s favourites through Drive Thru, Curbside Pickup, and McDelivery services.

This is not the first time McDonald’s at MIA has undergone a transformation. In 2021, the restaurant reopened following a significant refurbishment that introduced a range of digital solutions designed to enhance the customer experience.

The upgrades included self-ordering kiosks, table service, a split counter for efficient order placement and meal collection, and a modernised kitchen configuration to improve service efficiency.
