Malta-based international retailer and distributor Hudson Holdings Group has announced a changing of the guard at the top of its subsidiary Hudson Group’s human resources department, as HR Director Martin Gregory has resigned and been replaced by Kalani Weerasinghe.

The group, which represents brands including Nike, Urban Jungle, River Island, Kiabi, New Look, Timberland and Ted Baker in a number of markets, made the announcement last week.

The new appointee brings a wealth of experience in several roles in the financial sector, including in the USA and UK.

Recent career history includes an 11-year stint extended stint at HSBC, most recently as Head of People Services.

Her appointment comes after a promising year for the group, as it has expanded at a brisk pace, and indeed her appointment, effective from the end of October this year, came with a view to drive the organisational changes required to enable the continued local and global expansion of the group.

Amongst other exciting recent developments, in September, Hudson announced the opening of its latest project, a Nike store in Rabat, Morocco.

Earlier in the year, the group acquired leading local retailer Trilogy, in a move designed to further its operations in Malta.

Hudson also unveiled a new €3.5 million distribution centre in Hal Far, which was expected to triple its storage capacity, receiving products from across Asia and Europe for distribution to over 20 countries in Africa.
