Francis Busuttil & Sons (Marketing) Ltd plans to acquire the importation and distribution rights of some brands within Vivian Corporation Ltd’s fast-moving consumer goods business.

A so-called ‘notification of a concentration’ was submitted by the two companies to the Director General at the Office for Competition a few days ago.

Francis Busuttil & Sons (Marketing) Ltd is a sales, marketing and distribution operation representing a strong portfolio of globally renowned branded food and grocery products.

The company supplies products primarily to the retail sector - supermarkets, mini-markets and grocery stores – and operates from its premises in Santa Venera and Żebbuġ.

Vivian Corporation Ltd is named after the founder’s brother who died at a young age. It was set up in 1952 within the founder’s pharmacy when a German patient required medicine that was unavailable in Malta at the time.

It is an importer, wholesaler and distributor of consumer goods, representing a number of branded food and grocery products, baby products, cosmetics and healthcare products.

Through a notice on The Malta Government Gazette, the Director General of the Office for Competition invited interested third parties to submit any written objections to the notified concentration within seven days.
