Epic Malta is celebrating three years since its launch, Chief Marketing Officer Karl Galea shared on Friday (today).

Back in 2020, Vodafone Malta officially rebranded to Epic Malta, completing what was described as a "long-awaited move" for the telecommunications company.

The rebrand took place after the buyout of Vodafone Malta by Monaco Telecom in April 2020. The creation of a new name and logo sought to distinguish it from the previous company.

Tamás Bányai, Epic Malta’s CEO at the time of the rebranding, had praised Vodafone’s position as Malta’s “most recommended network” and as an international network which is “second to none” as being a strong foundation for the company’s future.

He had said that Epic Malta has shareholders who have a lot of experience in international markets, yet they also “have a deep understanding of the specific needs of small states”.

“We believe small is beautiful and that Malta has great potential,” Mr Bányai had added.

Vodafone was already very popular in Malta, yet since the rebrand, the company, now led by CEO Pierre-Etienne Cizeron, has continued to grow further. Three years on, Mr Galea noted that it has “exceeded 300,000 mobile customers” in Malta, a notable feat for a local telecom player.

“So much has happened since then with major milestone moments the team worked hard for and our customers made possible,” Mr Galea affirmed.

He proceeded to thank Epic Malta’s team and its customers for “trusting Epic with their connectivity every day”.

Epic Malta’s head office is located at SkyParks Business Centre in Gudja, and it also operates a number of retail outlets spread across the Maltese Islands.
