The final stone laying ceremony of the db Group’s project in St George’s Bay is set to take place today, one and a half years after the project commenced.

The project followed an estimated investment of around €300 million.

It includes the Hard Rock Hotel Malta, a musical-themed five-star hotel with several amenities, including Malta’s first rooftop cantilever pool.

The hotel preserves the architecture of the original 1860 British military accommodation quarters, which until recently used to house the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS).

The project also includes a mixed-use development featuring Ora Residences alongside an extensive mall, a supermarket and multiple restaurants.

Meanwhile, the db Group recently announced it will offer up to €20 million in 5.20 per cent unsecured bonds redeemable in 2031, the second tranche of a package it had launched last year.
