Former PL MEP Cyrus Engerer and former European Commission official Silvan Agius have set up a new equality-focused consultancy.
æquitasbridge was set up to help organisations put equality and inclusion policies and principles into practice.
“At a time when diversity, equality, inclusion, accessibility and belonging (DEIAB) are increasingly pushed to the sidelines, we place them at the heart of strategy and leadership,” the æquitasbridge website reads.
“After years working with institutions and civil society, Silvan Agius and Cyrus Engerer identified a consistent challenge: the gap between written policies and people's daily experiences. æquitasbridge was set up to close that gap.”
Mr Engerer said that innovation, decision-making, profitability, and talent retention improve when everyone in an organisation feels that they belong.
Mr Agius and Mr Engerer had previously planned to set up a new progressive political party that would have been called Partit Malta Progressiva.
However, these plans were formally shelved this year due to concerns that a new party, in addition to ADPD and Momentum, would only fragment third-party voters.
