In his position of Chief Business Development Officer at MAPFRE MSV Life plc, Michael Galea is responsible for directing and coordinating the design, establishment and optimisation of the business development value chain. He is a member of the Executive Management Committee of MAPFRE MSV Life and a member of the Steering Committee of MAPFRE Malta.

“I have directed the commercial development of MAPFRE MSV Life’s pensions business, including the successful launch of the MAPFRE MSV Life WorkSave Pension Scheme. MAPFRE MSV is today one of the main players in the provision of private pensions in Malta,” he asserts.

With a career spanning three decades in the banking sector, Mr Galea has held senior management positions, including membership on the Executive Committee at Bank of Valletta. He also served as Director of MAPFRE MSV Life plc and chaired the Executive Committee of the Malta Bankers’ Association. Furthermore, he represented the bank at various international organisations, including the Coordination Committee of the European Savings Banks Group (ESBG) and was also a member of the EFMA Operational Efficiency Advisory Council.

Mr Galea holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and have earned Master’s Degrees in European Studies and Integrated Marketing Communications. He is an Associate of the Trinity College of London.
