“As the Chief Executive Officer, my focus is to provide effective and efficient leadership to position the companies I am responsible for at the forefront of their respective industries,” Maria Micallef explains.

She has been involved in a number of companies within the Mizzi Organisation that have diversified operations, ranging from manufacturing to importation and distribution, fashion and food retailing, hospitality and English language schools.

“My role is to facilitate development and monitor the implementation of the strategic plans, promoting revenue growth and enhancing profitability. I provide the adequate mentoring to develop teams that focus on ensuring efficiency, quality, service and cost-effective sustainable management of all resources within the respective companies,” Ms Micallef says.

She has an MBA in General and Strategic Management from the Maastricht School of Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Malta.

The General Soft Drinks Co. Ltd, which employs over 240 people at its manufacturing site, offices and distribution centres in both Malta and Gozo, produces a wide range of soft drinks for brands owned by The Coca‑Cola Company (TCCC) including Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Fanta, Dr Pepper, Sprite, Schweppes and Kristal.

It is committed to minimising the environmental impact of its products and operations, with a particular focus on recycling, water stewardship energy and climate protection.
