SPAR Malta has announced the opening of a brand-new outlet, bringing a wide range of fresh produce and everyday essentials to customers in the Ta’ Xbiex area.

The store, which is located on Giuseppe Cali Street, was opened on Tuesday, to much fanfair on the company’s social media pages.

Along with the fresh fruit and veg offering, which a SPAR store manager explained the company has put much work into expanding, it will offer the full selection of SPAR’s own-brand COVID related products.

SPAR is an international group of independently-owned retailers working together under the franchise brand. In Malta, the brand is operated by Malta Retailing Ltd, a member of the Azzopardi Group.

The chain was first introduced in Malta in 2018. At the time, it planned to reach 23 locations by 2025.

Whilst COVID might have disrupted these plans, SPAR Malta continues to grow, opening a new store every six months, according to Paul Kelly, Retail Operations Manager at SPAR International.

In a video posted by Mr Kelly on social media staff praised the company's work environment.
