Renowned Rabat restaurant Grotto Tavern is set to reopen under new management, marking the end of a successful 10-year chapter under the Bastions Group.

Housed within a cave and a former World War II shelter, Grotto Tavern has operated as a catering establishment since 1962.

Over the past decade, the restaurant was transformed under the stewardship of the Bastions Group, establishing itself as one of Malta's leading dining destinations and earning repeated recommendations from the Michelin Guide as of 2023.

The restaurant's success and reputation attracted the attention of a Maltese chef, who has now acquired the business and is preparing to lead it into its next chapter.

Grotto Tavern is expected to reopen its doors in the coming days under its new management.

Speaking to WhosWho.mt, the Bastions Group extended its gratitude to its "loyal guests, dedicated team members, trusted suppliers, and all those who have contributed to Grotto Tavern's success over the past decade."
