My educational background consists of a Bachelor of Commerce degree, followed by a Master’s degree in accountancy. I then went to work for PWC. A global airline offered me a job soon after, shuttling between two Asia Pacific countries. I was only 25 and being offered a very attractive package. Construction was not on the cards. And then the penny dropped…
Today, V&C Group operates in a range of market sectors – health, construction, real estate, hospitality, investments, education, retail, manufacturing, and car services. As the Group’s CEO and previously CFO, along with my team, I managed to reach several key milestones including increasing margins substantially by enabling the Group to become its own supplier, implementing cost-saving initiatives, and adopting productivity tools. Revenue was increased through targeted acquisitions and the adoption of a lean management system. In parallel we also secured a multimillion line of credit to expand operations.
Internally, I spearheaded the diversification of the group as well as the expansion of planning, auditing, HR, and accounting functions to sustain growth and recruit top talent. Technologically, I implemented new, more efficient, and accurate cloud-based software across the board.
I also created Lil’Ville Childcare as well as co-founded the brand Health & Co.
The efforts paid off – V&C Group has won numerous industry awards in all the market sectors the Group operates in.
Finally, I am also very proud to be a Global Citizen Advocate, Malta’s Ambassador for Mental Health, and the only female shark on Malta’s Shark Tank Panel.
