Franco Fenech, one of the heirs of the Tumas Group fortune, has passed away.

He is the brother of Yorgen Fenech, who stands accused of masterminding the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Yorgen, whose trial is set to begin this year, is now the only surviving son of the late George Fenech, who took his father Tumas Fenech's business and turned it into one of Malta's largest conglomerates, with interests in gaming, hospitality and real estate.

Tumas Group is perhaps best know for its Portomaso development, which held the title of Malta's tallest tower for two decades.
