Bank of Valletta (BOV) has opened a new five-storey branch in Mosta, located just a few metres from its current premises, which it is set to replace.
Construction on the new building began roughly a year ago. The branch includes facilities such as a bulk-deposit ATM for business clients, full cash services and a 24-hour self-service lobby.
Meeting rooms have been soundproofed, and there is a dedicated archive and services area in the basement.
This is BOV’s 10th branch to open in Malta and includes features such as a second-class water system. which uses treated water for non-potable purposes like flushing, along with energy-saving measures like sensor-controlled lighting.
During the inauguration at 31-33 Constitution Street, CEO Kenneth Farrugia highlighted the bank’s alignment with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles and mentioned that the new branch is part of wider efforts to modernise both customer services and internal workspaces.
He also announced that BOV is currently developing a new internet and mobile banking platform, expected to launch by the end of the year.
Chairperson Gordon Cordina emphasised the bank’s longstanding connection to the community and stated that the new branch is intended to continue supporting local personal and business customers.
