The Michelin Guide has honoured two individuals and an establishment for excellence in hospitality.

George Attard, the head chef of Level Nine at the Grand, Mġarr has been awarded the Young Chef Award.

Mr Attard developed his skills at five-star hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Malta before returning to Gozo to take on the head chef job.

Michelin inspectors said they particularly appreciated the cooking and presentation of his lamb rump, served with anchovies, shallots and a parmentiere sauce.

Meanwhile, the Rosamì restaurant guided by director Charlo Cachia and his team didn’t just maintain its Michelin star but won an award for service.

“The award was based on the incredible atmosphere that the experienced and passionate team offers during the entire meal with the staff who present the menu with sobriety and professionalism, thus enhancing a gastronomic experience from welcome to the final farewell,” the Michelin Guide said.

Miljan Radonjic, Sommelier at Michelin-starred De Mondion, won the Sommelier Award for his extremely polite approach and natural ability to put guests at ease.

“His professionalism blends with a vast wine culture, making him a real point of reference for the dining room and for customers with the right and interesting combinations,” the Michelin Guide said.
