EuroBridge Shipping Services Limited on Friday announced the appointment of Robert Cassar as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The role of CEO is a new one at EuroBridge, as the company continues on its positive path of growth.

Established in 1995, EuroBridge is a leading freight forwarding and shipping company based in Malta.

Robert joined EuroBridge in June 2021 and has been going through a handover process prior to taking the reins fully, the company confirmed.

The newly appointed CEO recalled that when joining the organisation, he found that it was built around the customer, and was “always on the lookout to find new and innovative solutions to offer reliable logistics and shipping services”.

“I look forward to being part of this success story, and in continuing to build upon David’s and the entire EuroBridge Team’s work”, he added.

David Abela will be moving from Managing Director, a role he held for the past twenty-one years, to Director, and remaining active in Business Development as a Consultant to the business, with EuroBridge continuing to tap into his wealth of experience, and knowledge in the sector.

CEO Profile

Robert Cassar is a highly experienced, successful, and well-regarded business leader. He started with a career at one of the major international telecommunications companies with Marketing, Corporate Business Development and Sales roles in the Commercial Department as well as experience in managing their Supply Chain. Robert continued building his career in the logistics field when he moved to the local postal service provider to lead the Business Relations and International Relations teams, spearheading the organisation’s growth in eCommerce, while handling relationships with both domestic and international business customers.

Robert received his MBA degree from Anglia Ruskin University (ARU, Cambridge) and is the recipient of several awards during his career. Robert is also a visiting lecturer and mentor at a number of colleges and universities at MBA and MSc level.
