For Liverpool FC supporters, 28th March 1984 marked a special day as the team won the League Cup, known as the Milk Cup, against Everton FC. A total of 52,089 people gathered at Wembley Stadium, London, to watch the highly anticipated final, and among the spectators were Nick Scicluna and Michael Scicluna, all thanks to Farsons Group Chairman Louis A. Farrugia.
Not long-ago Nick Scicluna, Managing Director at Computer Labelling Systems came across an article on WhosWho.mt about Mr Farrugia. This prompted him to share the wonderful experience made possible by the generosity of the Chairman.
When contacted by WhosWho.mt, Mr Scicluna explains that his father, Michael used to manage 'Wimpy,' and 'il-Fortizza' restaurants, both managed by Farsons Group.
In 1956, Anthony Miceli-Farrugia took the role as Managing Director of L. Farrugia & Sons Ltd, more commonly known as Farsons. Eventually under Mr Miceli Farrugia’s leadership the companty entered the catering business through Express Catering Company Limited and started operating 'Wimpy' restaurant chain and developed 'il-Fortizza' restaurant. Eventually Mr Louis A. Farrugia increased Farson’s catering operations and set up Food Chain Holdings Limited, later renamed as Food Chain Limited, now operating the Pizza Hut, Burger King and KFC franchises.

“Mr Farrugia was a CEO at the time and had an office at 'il-Fortizza'. He knew that I supported Liverpool,” Mr Scicluna says. He adds that Mr Farrugia was aware that his father was going to London during the time and so surprised the father and son with tickets to see the match.
“At the time a ticket cost Lm100, so it wasn’t cheap. Then when I came back from the holiday, I wrote him a letter to thank him. I’ll never forget it,” Mr Scicluna recounts.
He tells WhosWho.mt that an experience like that is difficult to forget because he was obsessed with Liverpool FC.
In a message directed towards Mr Farrugia, Mr Scicluna expresses that he still remembers his lovely gesture to this day. “And I will keep on remembering that gesture for the rest of my life, because it was the most amazing experience,” he concludes.
