Heirs of the late Member of Parliament, "humble scholar", and University of Malta (UM) Chancellor John Rizzo Naudi have donated his collection of papers to UM.

The extensive collection contains valuable academic contributions, photos, and beyond that will now be made available to researchers and students.

“We thank them for sharing this worthy and treasured resource,” the team at UM wrote.

Dr Rizzo Naudi passed away in 2022 at the age of 96. Born in Msida and having studied abroad in the UK, he was first elected to Parliament in 1976, serving for 20 years until he exited politics in 1995.

His years in Parliament, in the 1980s and 1990s, saw him serve on two PN Government Cabinets as Parliamentary Secretary for the Elderly and Parliamentary Secretary within the Social Policy Ministry.

Throughout his career as a medical doctor, he was a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, a medical registrar at St Luke’s Hospital, and worked in Malaysia for seven years.

At UM, he lectured, served as Chancellor, and founded the Haemophilia Society of Malta in 1982.
