Franco Aloisio has been named Head of Communications at the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC).

The IDPC is the national supervisory authority responsible for monitoring and enforcing the provisions of the GDPR and the Data Protection Act.

With a professional career spanning the media, telecoms, financial services, and banking sectors, Mr Aloisio’s expertise is firmly rooted in strategic and impactful communication.

Mr Aloisio’s career trajectory includes several high-profile roles. He served as Head of Marketing and Communications at GO plc for four and a half years, where he helped with the launch of innovative offerings, such as GO’s TV proposition, sports rights, and the first iPhone in Malta.

His tenure at HSBC Bank Malta spanned nearly eight years as Head of Communications, where he worked on significant initiatives, including the introduction of HSBC Fusion, a tailored banking proposition for SMEs, and the Malta Trade for Growth funds. During this time, HSBC Malta was also named The Banker’s Best Bank of the Year multiple times.

Mr Aloisio also held the position of Head of Marketing and Communications at Calamatta Cuschieri, followed by his most recent role at JPA.

Earlier in his career, he worked at GlobalCapital plc and Standard Publications Ltd.
