Customers eager to get their hands on Apple’s latest release were spotted queuing outside the iCentre at Quad Central in Mrieħel early this morning, as the iPhone 17 officially went on sale in Malta.

The first customers began lining up as early as 7:30am, ahead of the store’s opening hours, to ensure they secured one of the new devices on launch day.

Apple’s iPhone 17, was announced earlier this month alongside the iPhone 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air. The line-up hit international shelves today, marking the official start of availability in Malta.

The iPhone 17 is being sold with a starting price of €999. It is sold alongside the higher-end iPhone Air and Pro models.

Introduced in September 2025, the iPhone 17 features Apple’s A19 chip, which supports Apple Intelligence, as well as a 120Hz OLED ProMotion display with Always-On functionality. It also includes a dual 48-megapixel camera system, a new Camera Control function for quicker access, an Apple-designed networking chip, more scratch-resistant front glass, and a customisable Action button.

For users seeking additional performance, Apple’s Pro versions come equipped with the A19 Pro chip, an enhanced thermal design, and a triple-lens camera system.

Queues forming in Malta mirror similar scenes worldwide, where Apple product launches typically attract early adopters willing to wait in line to be among the first to own the company’s latest technology.
