Renowned radio personality and presenter Daniel Testa has announced that Friday (today) marked his last day as General Manager (GM) at 89.7 Bay.

Mr Testa clarified that even though he will no longer be GM, he will continue to host the Bay Breakfast show on the radio station alongside his fiancée Ylenia Spiteri.

He had joined 89.7 Bay back in 2013, originally as Broadcaster and Audio Producer. He served in multiple roles at the radio station over the years, yet has become widely known for his work on the aforementioned show.

Looking back on his time as GM, Mr Testa said that he is grateful for the people he has met and projects he has been part of over the years. “From our rebrand in 2020, which gave Bay a fresh new look and sound, to launching our digital platform and opening up new revenue streams for the company,” Mr Testa said.

One project that he remarked is particularly close to his heart is the launch of Bay Easy, a radio station that 89.7 Bay’s parent company Eden Entertainment launched following its acquisition of 100.2 FM in 2023. This radio frequency had been home to popular radio station XFM for a number of years.

Mr Testa stated that now he will be delving more deeply into Soundspace and Maltabooth, two businesses he founded in 2017 and 2022, respectively.

“Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this adventure. Here’s to new beginnings and the exciting road ahead,” he concluded.

Ranked as one of Malta’s most popular radio stations, 89.7 Bay falls under Eden Leisure Group’s portfolio of businesses.
