As it prepares to reopen its hotels and restaurants, Corinthia has updated its reservation and cancellation policies “to provide more flexibility and peace of mind”, Chief Executive Officer Simon Naudi said in an update to guests.
“Gradually, and always in line with directives from local authorities, we are going to reopen our hotels and restaurants. We will, of course, be returning to a new normal, one for which we are well prepared with new, detailed protocols focusing on health and hygiene in all aspects of a hotel and restaurant operation,” Mr Naudi said.
He noted that, as the COVID-19 pandemic brought the world of travel and hospitality to an abrupt standstill, like most of its peers in the industry, Corinthia temporarily suspended operations in all its hotels and restaurants.
“These have been among the saddest decisions for us to have ever taken. And, yet, notwithstanding these challenging circumstances, we have been overwhelmed by the determination and loyalty of our thousands of colleagues in the Corinthia family who, in spite of great personal sacrifice, are working hard to look after our collection of hotels in anticipation of a return to business. We have seen the best of so many.
“All of us are inspired by countless acts of self-sacrifice, hard work and generosity in the communities around our hotels, not least the medical professions battling to save lives, who we salute and thank,” the CEO commented.
Corinthia’s detailed health and safety protocol is available on corinthia.com and Mr Naudi explained that while some of the guidelines will be highly visible in the style and form of service offered to guests, others are intended to address all areas of the hotel, including those not visited by guests. In all cases, he insisted, the health of colleagues and guests is the more important consideration.
“Normality will return, and on this there can be no doubt. Meanwhile, we will remain vigilant in our practices and hygiene in all our hotels, following directives issued by our local authorities. Above all, we will stay close to our colleagues and guests worldwide,” Mr Naudi pledged.
In line with Corinthia’s updated reservation and cancellation policies, guests making new individual reservations for any future arrival date are allowed changes or cancellations at no charge up to 24 hours before their scheduled arrival date. This applies to all rates and packages booked on corinthia.com or via guests’ preferred travel advisor.
In the case of reservations booked via online travel agents, guests are being asked to contact the booking provider for information on their policies.
