Corinthia Hotels Limited, a subsidiary of Corinthia Group, has announced that the brand is officially entering the United States market with a hotel in New York called The Surrey.
Through an agreement with the Reuben Brothers, Corinthia will be managing and operating the New York hotel, which is currently undergoing “an extensive transformation”.
Slated to reopen in early 2023, this development will mark a second collaboration with the Reuben Brothers, the global private investment firm with whom a Corinthia Hotel is also under development in Rome.
The consortium will partner with Casa Tua on the New York hotel’s food and beverage offering, “bringing the Miami Beach hotspot and treasured celebrity favourite to New York for the first time”.
The Surrey is located in the city’s prominent upper-east side, less than 200 metres from Central Park. It will have 97 guest rooms, including 33 suites, five signature suites and 12 luxury residences.
Commenting on the development, Corinthia CEO Simon Naudi said that the brand aimed to establish a presence in the United States for many years, especially in New York.
“We look forward to working closely with the Reuben Brothers to restore The Surrey to its former glory in time for its 100th anniversary,” he said.
