Baxter International Inc’s HR team in Malta has been awarded the National HR Quality Mark by the Foundation for Human Resources Development, the company’s senior HR Manager Matthew Psaila announced on Monday.
Celebrating the award, Mr Psaila thanked the foundation for introducing the HR Quality Mark, saying there is an increasing need for measuring, monitoring, tracking and understanding “how well people are being managed and developed".
The certification, which recognises the “professionalism, competence and contribution of the HR function in any organisation”, is awarded for a period of three years.
Its award recognises that the HR criteria set by the foundation has been met and serves as a process to guide organisations on how to improve their HR practices.
Mr Psaila identified the contribution of Baxter’s HR Operations Manager Emily Bonello as driving the HR team and gave “kudos” to Amy Catania and Antonella Vella for their “great input and contribution”.
Baxter International Inc is a leading global healthcare company employing 50,000 people. Its Malta operations are headquartered in Marsa. In May 2020, the company, which employs over 500 people locally, celebrated 30 years since the beginning of its Malta operations.
