Cardini’s management on Monday announced that the Sliema restaurant is set to close its doors.
Taking to social media, the management of the establishment, which was founded in 2012, remarked that the announcement was made with “heavy hearts”.
“However, we reflect on the cherished memories shared with our wonderful staff and clients, and we are grateful for those moments,” the management added.
Despite this, it also remarked that while Cardini will be saying goodbye, the management is “thrilled to unveil an exciting new concept that will take its place”.
“We are confident that you will love it, and we cannot wait to share more updates with you very soon. Stay tuned,” it concluded.
A number of loyal customers shared their disappointment at the news of the restaurant’s closing on social media, with one commentor saying that it is a “pity to see such a post” since it was “one of the few restaurants that was always consistent with food and service”.
Another stated that the establishment “will surely be missed”, before thanking the management for the “great food and service” and wishing it good luck for the future.
Located on the Sliema seafront, Cardini was a restaurant that specialised in Mediterranean cuisine, served in a “warm atmosphere” with an emphasis on “comfort, taste, and above all, relaxation and enjoyment for all the family”. It forms part of Bondin Group, which also operates Birgu restaurant Don Berto, and architecture and structural engineering company JB Architects.
