In Episode 16 of The Boardroom, airing live at 3pm on WhosWho.mt’s Facebook page, a spotlight is placed on the wedding industry and the impacts of having Malta’s summer 2020 schedule severely impacted.

A limit on the number of people who can gather in public from 30th June onwards has allowed some weddings to take place, despite the Deputy Prime Minister saying they remain “not recommended”, paving the way for some activity for businesses in the sector.

In tomorrow’s episode, presented by business writer Jo Caruana, a discussion will take place between Sarah Young, Director at Sarah Young Luxury Events & Weddings, Alistair Fenech – Director at Alistair Floral Design, and Veronica Zammit Tabone – Managing Director at Villa Arrigo Boutique Events.

With cancellations and postponements, as well as the uncertainty of how the COVID-19 situation will evolve, businesses in the sector must coordinate careful planning, risk mitigation and a heightened sense of uneasiness among staff and the public alike.

With events due to open up, tourism due to make a comeback and an ailing economy, what will the wedding sector look like in 2020?
