Tumas Group and greatt have acquired a substantial stake in the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC) located in Ta’ Qali.

Tumas Group, together with its subsidiary Spinola Investments Ltd, now owns 50 per cent of MFCC shares. The group is known for its landmark Portomaso development, long featuring Malta’s tallest tower and the Hilton.

Additionally, 25 per cent of the shares were purchased by local events company Greatt Company Limited, owned by Anton Attard and Mark Grech, known as ‘il-Guru’.

Greatt Company holds the local rights for several popular television franchises including X Factor, Shark Tank and MasterChef.

Corinthia Palace Hotel Company Limited (CPHCL Finance plc), the special purpose vehicle managing the Corinthia Group’s financing activities, which had since 2016 been the sole owner of MFCC, retains a 25 per cent stake.

The transaction was effected for an undisclosed sum in July 2025.

The MFCC spans over 22,000 square metres and is Malta’s largest conference and exhibition venue, offering extensive indoor and outdoor spaces. It regularly hosts a wide range of events, including weddings, concerts, televised productions like X-Factor, music festivals such as Mużika Mużika and major trade fairs like the Malta Trade Fair.

It sits on land which is Government-owned. Earlier this year, reports surfaced that the Maltese Government is planning an expansion of the MFCC.
