Wayne Pisani heads the regulatory and compliance function within Grant Thornton and also leads the financial services, tax and regulatory team.

Together with his team, he handles a "wide range of clients, including private clients, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and NASDAQ listed companies across various industry sectors on cross-border regulatory, compliance, and tax planning engagements," Dr Pisani explains.

In addition to his role at Grant Thornton, he is also heavily involved in Malta's financial services industry, being a member of the steering committee of the national Malta Financial Services Advisory Council, which is responsible for implementing a 10-year strategic plan for the industry. Dr Pisani is also Vice President of the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners, having previously served as the institute's President and chaired its Financial Services Regulated Business Committee. From 2018 to 2021, I was also a member of the Board of Governors of FinanceMalta.

Dr Pisani is a lawyer by profession and was admitted to the Bar in 2001. He is passionate about exploring the latest digitalisation opportunities in finance, and is a published author on this subject. He is also a lecturer at University of Malta, teaching and researching about how digitalisation can lead to a more sustainable way of living through a collaborative economy.
