As Malta continues to experience growing energy demand, increased electrification and the development of cleaner energy technologies, the need for an electricity system that can adapt to these changes is becoming increasingly important. At the same time, ensuring a reliable, secure and affordable energy supply while meeting climate objectives presents a particular challenge for an island state like Malta, while remaining a key priority.
Organised by the Energy and Water Agency (EWA) in collaboration with the Institute for Sustainable Energy at the University of Malta, this year’s fifth edition of the National Energy Conference will be held on 29th October at Villa Arrigo, Naxxar. With the chosen theme being “Malta’s Energy Transition: Building a Resilient, Flexible and Sustainable Electricity System,” this year’s conference will provide a platform for discussion on the future of Malta’s energy system and the broader regional energy transition.
It will bring together policymakers, regulators, industry representatives, academics and technical experts to discuss these developments and consider what is needed to support Malta’s electricity system in the years ahead. It will also provide an opportunity for stakeholders from different areas of the sector to exchange ideas, share experience and explore potential solutions.
