Rose Anne Cuschieri started her career as a grade three schoolteacher and served as coach, trainer, director, lecturer and public speaker. In 2018, she assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer of the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), previously known as the National Commission for Further and Higher Education (NCFHE).

“My greatest accomplishment,” she says, “was achieving my doctorate while working and raising my children. I love to cook, listening to music and attending ballroom classes. My father was a confectioner. In my scholastic years I was gifted with two remarkable teachers who taught me English and Maltese and encouraged my growth; they have inspired me in the choice of career which was that of teaching.”

Dr Cuschieri currently leads a team of 44 at the MFHEA. The MFHEA focuses on research, effective licensing, accreditation, quality assurance, compliance and recognition of qualifications established under the Malta Qualifications Framework.
