Golden Harvest has announced the death of one of its Founders and Directors, Joseph Aquilina, who passed away on Thursday (today).
“It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of one of our Directors and Founders, Joseph Aquilina, who has left to join the Lord on the 25th of August 2025. He was a pillar for the company, loved dearly by all of his family and all Golden Harvest employees alike,” the company wrote in a statement.
Mr Aquilina was instrumental in establishing Golden Harvest more than 70 years ago. Since its inception, the company has become a household name in Malta, producing bakery items, sweet confectionery products, as well as operating an ice-cream and gluten-free department.
The business, which remains family-run, is now managed by third-generation members who continue to build on the legacy that Mr Aquilina helped create.
