Malcolm Briffa is responsible for Melita’s overall offering for business customers – be they small corner shops, or international corporations. These services are provided under the ‘Melita Business’ brand.

“The Melita Business approach is based on two key pillars: reliability, and value. We also adopt a very open approach, building partnerships with experts and specialists and not trying to do it all alone. During my tenure in this role, I have focused on creating an ecosystem of partnerships that benefit our business clients in Malta and internationally,” Malcolm shares with WhosWho.mt.

This principle was adopted when the Melita Business brand launched its state-of-the-art data centre, opening it up to system integrators to leverage as a platform for their clients.

“We also addressed key national infrastructural projects such as nationwide WAN for Malta’s government schools with a key local networking partner. More recently we have launched Smart Cloud, a cloud platform in collaboration with local specialists in hardware and virtualisation.”

The same open approach guided Melita in its launch of melita.io – providing connectivity to system integrators and application developers working in the field of the Internet of Things (IoT).

“We have developed an ecosystem of partners, combining our expertise and exporting local talent and solutions to leading international brands.”

This same philosophy shapes the company’s internal ways of working, where Malcolm’s focus is on supporting and challenging his team so that they can continuously find new ways to contribute and grow personally; whilst helping clients’ businesses grow.

Prior to his current role, Malcolm held various senior positions at Melita, which gave him a broad perspective on the telecommunications industry. He holds an MBA with distinction from Warwick Business School, as well as an MA in Integrated Marketing and a BComm (Hons.) from the University of Malta.

Malcolm has also studied at INSEAD, the Digital Marketing Institute, and The London Institute of Banking and Finance.

He is married and has two energetic children.
