Maris Catania has been appointed as the new Chairperson of Victim Support Malta.
Announcing the news on LinkedIn, Victim Support Malta said that Dr Catania will be succeeding outgoing Chairperson Julianne Grima.
The NGO explained that Dr Catania has dedicated much of her time to Victim Support Malta over the past several years as a member of its Board. Throughout her professional and academic career, including her work in psychology and cyberpsychology, she has focused on understanding harm and vulnerability, and on how systems respond to people when they are most in need of support.
The NGO wrote that her experience, values and deep commitment to Victim Support Malta’s mission will help guide the organisation as it continues standing beside victims of crime and helping people regain safety, dignity and a sense of control.
