Katja Abela started up Atelier Maison in 2014 together with Paula Agius with the aim to design spaces for their clients that promote good quality of life through one’s home, work, style and culture.

“Always working towards new and innovative design solutions, elements such as planes, volumes, light and shadow are adopted as the building blocks to create environments that recognise their maximum potential and capability,” she shares with WhosWho.mt.

From the outset, the firm sought to come up with a new signature style for Maltese interiors. In fact, in its the projects, Atelier Maison lays stress on defining a new type of Mediterranean interior, obliterating the sterile minimalism that pervades most new Maltese apartments and, instead, using tasteful injections of colour and bespoke pattern to create something contemporary and tasteful.
