Oriana Abela is a Partner at Grant Thornton and an accountant by profession, specialising in capital markets. She supports clients in raising capital across multiple platforms, including the Main Market, the Institutional Securities Market, and the Prospects MTF Market. Her client portfolio spans diverse sectors such as property development, pharmaceuticals, shipping, utilities, and retail.

In 2023, Ms Abela played a key role in the team behind the issuance of Malta’s first Green Bond. Beyond facilitating bond listings, she provides clients with guidance post-admission, ensuring long-term support.

In addition to leading the Capital Markets team, Ms Abela heads several other corporate finance engagements. These include due diligence assignments (local or cross-border, buy-side and vendor), valuations, impairment analyses of goodwill or property (tangible or intellectual), business plans, feasibility studies, restructuring strategies, and IFRS technical consultations.

Before joining Grant Thornton, Ms Abela gained valuable professional experience at two Big Four firms. She is also a member of the ESEF Working Group within the Malta Institute of Accountants (MIA) and a member of the Professional Accountants in Business Committee.
