After graduating from the University of Malta in Engineering in 1977, Charles Cuschieri took up employment with Bortex as a Production Engineer for a few months and then moved to Delta Electronika of Holland as a Design Electronics engineer. Then, in 1982, he joined the University of Malta as a full-time lecturer in electronics and power electronics.
At the University he was also responsible to start a line of research in the field of inverters, variable speed drives and variable speed constant voltage generators mainly for wind turbines. His work was acclaimed by the external professor at the time who was himself a power electronics professor.
“In the meantime, I had set up Camilleri and Cuschieri Consulting Engineers and, in 1989, I resigned from the University of Malta to manage the consultancy on a full-time basis,” he explains.
A fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Mr Cuschieri was awarded the Engineering Excellence Award in Leadership by the Malta Chamber of Engineers in 2012.
Camilleri and Cuschieri is a leading engineering consultancy firm offering clients smart building solutions.
