Anthia Zammit is an advocate admitted to the practice of law in Malta (EU). For the past 12 years, she developed Malta’s only law firm focused on the laws regulating life sciences, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and biologics.

“I advise and act for leading multinational mega cap pharmaceutical companies and draft medicinal product development and distribution agreements, as well as anti-corruption and anti-bribery provisions and procedures,” she tells WhosWho.mt.

She also advises on matters of EU marketing authorisations, market access, and regulatory exclusivities including regulatory data protection, orphan designation, and pediatric research rewards, pricing and reimbursement, advertising and labelling, pharmacovigilance, and intellectual property.

“I formed part of the international legal team representing a leading global biotechnology company that pioneered specialised immunology treatment in its EU regulatory data protection litigation before national courts and the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).”

Further, Dr Zammit was involved in drafting Malta's medical cannabis producers’ regulations and the general guidelines. She also served as legal counsel to the Malta Chamber of Commerce Healthcare Business Section.

“Recently, I advised one of the authorised COVID-19 vaccine developers on licensing, manufacturing, and cold chain distribution, and authored Malta’s chapter in The Life Sciences Law Review and The Healthcare Law Review—featuring Malta for the first time.”
