An accountant by profession, Ian Agius started his career at KPMG, where he developed a sound professional advisory acumen while working with clients in a variety of industries based both in Malta and also in other countries.

He joined the Malta Communications Authority, the National Regulatory Authority for telecoms and postal services in Malta, 19 years ago. 

“At the Malta Communications Authority, I have been responsible for setting up and putting in practice several regulatory operational functions. I also contribute to the strategic and policy development of national and European frameworks for telecoms and posts,” Mr Agius says.

He was appointed Chief of Operations in August 2007 and, previously, served as Acting Director General, Manager Regulatory Accounting, and Senior Analyst Regulatory Accounting and Finance.
