Maltese chef Giovann Attard is making waves in the culinary world, recently earning a coveted spot on Good Day New York, one of the most-watched morning shows in the Big Apple.
The Gozitan chef, who hails from the picturesque village of Għarb, is now the Executive Chef at Aqua Roma, an upscale New York City restaurant blending Italian and Asian flavours.
During his Fox 5 appearance, Mr Attard introduced audiences to Aqua Roma’s menu, highlighting the restaurant’s fusion of Mediterranean and Asian influences. His passion for food, deeply rooted in his Maltese upbringing, was evident as he demonstrated some of the restaurant’s signature dishes.
His journey to culinary success began in Malta, where he pursued a four-year culinary arts course while gaining hands-on experience at a five-star hotel. His drive and ambition soon led him abroad, where he refined his craft at renowned establishments, including The Stafford London, One&Only, The Palm in Dubai, and the critically acclaimed Norma in London.
Now at the helm of Aqua Roma’s Italian kitchen, he is infusing his Mediterranean roots into the menu, bringing a taste of home to the city that never sleeps.
His love for food extends beyond the restaurant; he frequently shares recipes on his Instagram, often featuring his mother, and educates followers on sustainable food practices inspired by his father, who is a farmer.
