The acclaimed fine dining restaurant The Golden Fork in Rabat has announced that its esteemed chef, Letizia Vella – winner of last year’s Best Chef Awards in Dubai and MasterChef judge – will soon embark on an exciting culinary journey. Chef Letizia will be honing her skills at the renowned De Bokkedoorns, a two-Michelin-starred French restaurant in Holland.

There she’ll be performing a ‘stage’, which in the culinary world refers to a short-term apprenticeship where chefs refine their skills and learn from the best in the industry. This opportunity will not only elevate her own expertise but also bring fresh techniques and inspiration back to Malta’s dining scene.
De Bokkedoorns, a prestigious culinary establishment founded in 1961, has maintained its two Michelin stars for over 30 years. The restaurant is now under the stewardship of Pascal Beeren, the third generation of the family to oversee its operations.
During her stage, Chef Letizia will work alongside Chef Roy Eijkelkamp, known for his minimalist approach to cooking, focusing on creating simple dishes that highlight the quality of their ingredients.
Due to her absence, The Golden Fork has announced that they’ll be closed from tomorrow (22nd January) till Wednesday 29th January, and look forward to welcoming diners back after that, with the “fresh ideas and flavours” that Chef Letizia will undoubtedly bring back with her.
