One decade and many laughs later, Friday (tomorrow) will be Jonathan Abel, JD Patrick and Martina Zammit’s last episode on air hosting The Morning Vibe on Vibe FM.
News about the end of an era was announced on Tuesday during the trio’s morning show.
In comments given to WhosWho.mt the trio explained that their intention was to continue with the show but had no choice given the operational circumstances when the station’s management introduced a new vision.
“Unfortunately, this was beyond our control. After we received the news that the trio would be disbanded, we made the decision to call it a day,” JD Patrick said.
Asked whether they would be working on any other projects together, now that the morning show is coming to a close, they all agreed that “it would be crazy not to, after building such a strong brand.”
The trio noted that it is still too early to say what projects they will be working on. “But, yes, we have a healthy number of options to discuss,” Abel remarked.
In addition, Martina highlighted that the trio is carefully considering each opportunity to make sure it aligns with their goals while they all look forward to working on their next exciting journey together.
“We’ll be back. The sky is the limit really,” JD, Martina and Abel concluded.
From its end, Vibe FM also released a statement sharing that “change is the heartbeat of growth in every radio station.”
The radio station commented that despite best efforts from both sides over the past months, they “couldn’t find a way to continue working together.”
Despite parting ways, Vibe reminisced about wonderful memories together and remarked that the trio had been important contributors. “We feel truly blessed to have had them with us.”
Many people expressed sadness over the news noting that they are a very difficult trio to replace.
“Thank you for keeping us entertained while in stressful morning traffic, we surely miss the laughs,” one commenter wrote.
