Universal Air, a Malta-based airline, has announced that it will cease all scheduled passenger flight operations from 31st May 2025 onwards. The last of its scheduled flights will take place on 30th May.

The decision, announced via the airline’s official social media channels and website, was described as a difficult one that had been made after “careful consideration.”

“All scheduled passenger bookings have been cancelled from 31st May 2025,” the airline stated, adding: “We know how disappointing and disruptive changes to travel plans can be, and this is not the experience we ever aim to provide. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.”

Affected customers are being contacted directly via email, with the airline confirming that no action is required from passengers. Universal Air has authorised full automatic refunds to the original form of payment, with funds expected to be returned within three to five working days. A separate confirmation will be sent to customers once the refund is processed.

Despite the end of its scheduled passenger operations, Universal Air remains fully operational through its Charter and ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) services.
