Hudson Group announced it will expand its operations to Kenya later this year.

The leading Maltese fashion retailer and distributor confirmed the growth plan in a company announcement, in which it stated it will fully redeem the €12 million bonds it had issued in 2018 on the due maturity date of 6th April (today).

Based in Malta, Hudson Group has a presence in Italy, Cyprus, Morocco, Algeria, Nigeria and Greece.

It represents several leading fashion brands, such as Nike, Calvin Klein and North Face and owns the Urban Jungle franchise.

It recently opened Malta’s first Sports Direct store in Qormi and will launch the country’s first H&M store, a 2,300 square metre shop in the heart of Sliema, later this year.

Hudson is partially owned by the British company Frasers Group, the owner of House of Fraser and the Sports Direct brand.

Last year, Frasers acquired a 41.98 per cent direct shareholding in Hudson Holdings Limited, with plans for staggered acquisitions that would result in Frasers holding a controlling interest in the Maltese company.
