During his walkaround, he called at the airline’s Engineering Base and Head Office at Sky Parks Business Centre. James Genovese, Chief Human Resources Officer, accompanied him during the visit.
Mr Curmi was introduced to all staff members on duty and was given an introductory overview of the duties carried out by the respective units and the responsibilities which fall within the remit of the airline's various departments.
In January, Mr Curmi told WhosWho.mt that he would be stepping down from his position at MAPFRE MSV Life, which he had occupied since 2001, to focus on his new position at Air Malta.
Commenting on his appointment, finance minister Clyde Caruana said, “Air Malta is a key strategic asset for our country, it employs hundreds of people and is crucial to our connectivity needs as an island. That is why we want to see it grow stronger, and I believe Mr Curmi can help achieve this aim.”
