When Melanie Calleja and Neville Zahra first met through a shared professional connection, they quickly realised that, despite following very different career paths, they shared the same philosophy: technology should never be the end goal. Instead, it should help businesses operate more effectively, make better decisions, and build a stronger foundation for future growth.
That shared outlook would eventually lead to the creation of Foxwize.
Neville Zahra has spent more than two decades working across software development, infrastructure, and business technology, supporting organisations in sectors including retail, warehousing, and pharmaceuticals. Throughout his career, one lesson has remained constant: every business is different.
“Technology delivers the greatest value when it is aligned with the way an organisation operates and the objectives it is trying to achieve,” he explains.
Melanie Calleja arrived at the same conclusion from a different direction. Beginning her career in retail, she developed a passion for understanding how businesses function. Working across reporting, operations, and business analysis gave her first-hand insight into the challenges organisations face as they grow.
“I have always enjoyed understanding how businesses work,” she says. “The more involved I became in business analysis, the more I realised that technology could simplify complex processes, improve visibility, and help organisations make more confident decisions.”
As she became increasingly involved in ERP projects, she naturally found herself bridging the gap between operational teams and technical specialists.
Both founders believed that successful implementations begin long before software is selected.
“We spend a lot of time listening,” Ms Calleja explains. “Before recommending any solution, we want to understand how the organisation operates, where its challenges lie, and what success looks like for that particular business.”
Over the past two years, the company has supported organisations across a diverse range of industries, including retail, hospitality, pharmaceutical, financial services, iGaming, transportation, manufacturing, and professional services. Growing primarily through referrals and long-term relationships, Foxwize now works with organisations in both Malta and the United Kingdom.
“Implementing software is only one part of the journey,” Mr Zahra says. “The real value comes from helping businesses get the most from their systems as they continue to grow and evolve.” The team sees this collaboration as an ongoing partnership.
This philosophy also influences the way projects are delivered. Instead of large-scale implementations that can feel overwhelming, Foxwize works alongside clients to deliver projects in manageable phases, allowing organisations to realise value progressively while maintaining confidence throughout the process.
“Technology should support businesses, not disrupt them,” Ms Calleja says. “Breaking projects into achievable milestones helps teams adapt more comfortably while delivering measurable improvements along the way.”
Artificial intelligence is another area generating growing interest among clients, and the Foxwize team believes it will play an increasingly important role in shaping the future of business.
Both founders see AI as a powerful opportunity to improve productivity, automate repetitive tasks, strengthen decision-making, and unlock new efficiencies across organisations. At the same time, they believe its greatest value comes from understanding where it can have the most meaningful impact and integrating it thoughtfully into existing business processes.
“AI is changing the way businesses work, and we are excited to help our clients take advantage of these opportunities,” Mr Zahra says. “Its success is not simply about adopting the technology. It is about implementing it in a way that empowers people, strengthens processes, and delivers meaningful business value.”
As Foxwize continues to grow, the company remains focused on developing industry-specific solutions, strengthening strategic partnerships, and expanding its reach while staying true to the philosophy on which it was founded.
“Our ambition is to continue building trusted relationships and helping organisations make confident technology decisions,” Ms Calleja says. “Every business is unique, and that is what makes this work so rewarding.”
For Foxwize, success has never been measured by the software it implements alone, but by the lasting value it creates for the organisations it supports.
By combining business insight, technology expertise, and a partnership-led approach, Foxwize helps organisations turn digital transformation from a complex challenge into a clear, practical, and value-driven journey.
